About Department

The Department was established in the year 1999 and with present intake of 120. Department Staff Members work with passion to make a positive difference. The IT department promises commitment to excellence in quality of work, academic performances and teamwork across various disciplines. The department focuses on innovation for students to meet the evolving trends in various technologies and assures collaborative learning experience during their course. As a recognition the department has been twice accredited by NBA, New Delhi in 2009 & 2013. Permanent Affliation has been approved by Anna University for IT department. The IT Department works with various other organizations to develop innovative strategies and placement for the students. Many of alumni of IT department got placed in prominent software companies like Infosys, CTS, Hexaware, ZOHO etc., and others pursuing higher studies abroad.


To be recognized as a Centre of Excellence for stimulating the creation and exchange of knowledge by providing better service to enhance student progress through effective teaching and learning process thereby leading to innovation, professionalism, teaching work and continuous improvement.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO 1:Be able to apply the principles of computer science, information systems, mathematics and related engineering field to solve real world problems appropriate to the discipline and succeed in an information system career.
  • PEO 2:Be able to contribute and communicate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams to successfully complete projects and perform services related to information system to meet customer business objectives.
  • PEO 3:Function ethically and responsibly, and will remain informed and involved as full participants in our profession and our society.
  • PEO 4:Engage in lifelong learning to remain current in their profession and be leaders in our technological society.

  • PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3: Design/Development of Solutions:Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

    The CDC (Curriculum Development Cell) rolls out the curriculum design draft with the updated norms of the regulators such as AICTE, UGC, Anna University etc. The industry experts are identified and interacted by the members involved in Curriculum design. To be specific, grouping of domains in IT are Problem Solving, Data Science, Networks, Security etc. The courses are hence finalized and presented to the BOS (Board of Studies) and Academic Council. The design of Curriculum & course of CSE/IT included interaction among 33 leading Industrial experts from Oracle, GE Digital, Qualcomm, SAP, Amadeus, Robert Bosch, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS.

    IT has been consistently setting records of campus placements. Producing graduates who are well equipped to handle the working norms of the industry and commerce in the public and the private sectors has been the primary aim of the college.


    IT has been consistently improving its placement performance. The industry has been offering jobs with diverse profiles to our students. IT Department groom our students to inculcate a flexible and adaptable nature so they are well prepared for the corporate world by the time they leave the portals of the institute.


    The IT campus is well planned with infrastructure like Seminar Halls, Smart Clasrooms, Department library, Faculty Rooms etc.

    Centre Of Excellence-EMC Inaguration

    EMC Corporation organized the course in Data science and Big data Analytics so as to enrich the knowledge about the technology. Special placement drive will be conducted for the certified students by EMC corporation.106 students successfully completed the course.

    The day when budding Engineers turns into professional through lightening up their innovative thinkings and making everyone to shower application over their splendid thoughts.
